According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2003 Q2 was $702. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,148), followed by Connecticut ($875), and New Jersey ($851).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($507), followed by North Dakota ($516), and Montana ($521).
