According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2003 Q4 was $768. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,237), followed by Connecticut ($993), and New York ($960).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest average weekly wage ($549), followed by South Dakota ($559), and Mississippi ($559).
