According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2004 Q4 was $813. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,291), followed by Connecticut ($1,057), and New York ($1,018).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest average weekly wage ($572), followed by South Dakota ($581), and Mississippi ($587).
