According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2005 Q1 was $775. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,278), followed by New York ($1,097), and Connecticut ($1,083).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest average weekly wage ($533), followed by South Dakota ($545), and Mississippi ($546).
