According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2006 Q4 was $862. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,424), followed by New York ($1,106), and Connecticut ($1,099).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($614), followed by Montana ($625), and Mississippi ($630).
