According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2009 Q3 was $841. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,454), followed by Connecticut ($1,025), and Massachusetts ($1,023).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($633), followed by Mississippi ($635), and Montana ($637).
