According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2004:

  1. Texas: 21,900
  2. New York: 18,400
  3. Tennessee: 16,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2004:

  1. Louisiana: -400
  2. Hawaii: -100
  3. West Virginia: 100
