According to data from the World Bank, in 1962, Ivory Coast had the highest neonatal mortality rate (per 1,000 live births) in Africa (87.4), followed by Cameroon (70.1), and Morocco (65.8). On the other hand, Kenya had the lowest neonatal mortality rate in Africa in 1962 (45.1).
