According to data from the World Bank, in 1965, Liberia had the highest neonatal mortality rate (per 1,000 live births) in Africa (102.5), followed by Mali (99.4), and Ivory Coast (83.6). On the other hand, Zimbabwe had the lowest neonatal mortality rate in Africa in 1965 (32.5).
