Neonatal Mortality Rate (Per 1,000 Live Births) for African Countries in 1999

According to data from the World Bank, in 1999, South Sudan had the highest neonatal mortality rate (per 1,000 live births) in Africa (57.6), followed by Guinea-Bissau (56.3), and Mali (52.9). On the other hand, Seychelles had the lowest neonatal mortality rate in Africa in 1999 (8.7).
