Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2010, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for North Carolina was 1,222,435 and represented 13.92% of the total North Carolina citizen population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (257.12K), followed by Wake (167.15K), and Guilford (147.14K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (62.06%), followed by Hertford (60.46%), and Northampton (58.35%).
