Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2013, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for South Carolina was 1,251,565 and represented 27.61% of the total South Carolina citizen population.

Among all South Carolina counties, Richland had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (176.86K), followed by Charleston (103.81K), and Greenville (82.07K).
