Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2013, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,251,565 and represented 20.16% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (482.23K), followed by Davidson (172.06K), and Hamilton (67.39K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (53.89%), followed by Haywood (50.07%), and Hardeman (40.91%).
