Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2013, the citizen voting-age population for North Carolina was 6,923,095 and represented 71.73% of the total North Carolina population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest citizen voting-age population (629.77K), followed by Wake (622.66K), and Guilford (353.47K).

In terms of percentages, Watauga had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (84.29%), followed by Transylvania (81.08%), and Avery (80.60%).
