Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2014, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for North Carolina was 1,259,335 and represented 13.62% of the total North Carolina citizen population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (287.49K), followed by Wake (189.08K), and Guilford (159.57K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (62.59%), followed by Hertford (60.50%), and Edgecombe (57.98%).
