Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2014, the citizen voting-age population for North Carolina was 7,015,220 and represented 71.95% of the total North Carolina population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest citizen voting-age population (646.14K), followed by Wake (640.32K), and Guilford (357.62K).

In terms of percentages, Watauga had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (84.62%), followed by Hyde (81.49%), and Transylvania (81.11%).
