Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2019, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for North Carolina was 1,287,245 and represented 13.18% of the total North Carolina citizen population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (324.14K), followed by Wake (206.91K), and Guilford (173.99K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (61.64%), followed by Hertford (59.67%), and Edgecombe (58.25%).
