Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2024, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Illinois was 1,303,064 and represented 11.04% of the total Illinois citizen population.

Among all Illinois counties, Cook had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (1.12M), followed by Will (79.46K), and St. Clair (70.43K).

In terms of percentages, Pulaski had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (33.70%), followed by Alexander (33.02%), and St. Clair (28.19%).
