Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, there were 2,943,662 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Florida and they represented 15.45% of the total population of Florida in 2011. Broward County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (473,886), followed by Miami-Dade County (436,425), and Duval County (254,059). On the other hand, Gilchrist County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (926), followed by Holmes County (1,183), and Lafayette County (1,332).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Gadsden County had the highest percentage (55.19%), followed by Madison County (38.49%), and Jefferson County (35.51%).
