United States Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone Population By State in 2011

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, there were 38,383,977 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in the United States and they represented 12.32% of the total US population in 2011.

Georgia had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (2,979,398), followed by Texas (2,963,959), and Florida (2,943,662). On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (4,451) followed by Wyoming (4,709), and Vermont (6,334).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, District of Columbia had the highest percentage (49.18%), followed by Mississippi (36.99%), and Louisiana (31.99%).
