United States Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone Population By State in 2019

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2019, there were 41,192,127 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in the United States and they represented 12.55% of the total US population in 2019.

Texas had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (3,515,891), followed by Georgia (3,364,704), and Florida (3,344,935). On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (5,700) followed by Wyoming (6,070), and Vermont (8,052).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, District of Columbia had the highest percentage (44.39%), followed by Mississippi (37.47%), and Louisiana (32.34%).
