United States Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone Population By State in 2010

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2010, there were 38,014,561 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in the United States and they represented 12.29% of the total US population in 2010.

Georgia had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (2,932,586), followed by Texas (2,911,228), and Florida (2,885,984). On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (3,805) followed by Wyoming (4,432), and Vermont (6,056).

When it comes to the percentage of each state's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, District of Columbia had the highest percentage (50.00%), followed by Mississippi (36.91%), and Louisiana (31.94%).
