Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, there were 1,401,752 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Ohio and they represented 12.14% of the total population of Ohio in 2011. Cuyahoga County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (374,568), followed by Franklin County (251,786), and Hamilton County (205,929). On the other hand, Vinton County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (41), followed by Wyandot County (48), and Monroe County (62).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Cuyahoga County had the highest percentage (29.48%), followed by Hamilton County (25.72%), and Franklin County (21.32%).
