Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2016, there were 1,452,230 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Ohio and they represented 12.48% of the total population of Ohio in 2016. Cuyahoga County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (371,749), followed by Franklin County (286,587), and Hamilton County (211,556). On the other hand, Vinton County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (60), followed by Wyandot County (70), and Monroe County (79).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Cuyahoga County had the highest percentage (29.64%), followed by Hamilton County (26.06%), and Franklin County (22.47%).
