Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2017, there were 284,785 hispanics or latinos (of all racial backgrounds) in South Carolina and they represented 5.67% of the total population of South Carolina in 2017.

Greenville County had the highest number of hispanics or latinos (46,379), followed by Richland County (21,411), and Spartanburg County (20,704). On the other hand, McCormick County had the lowest number of hispanics or latinos (139), followed by Allendale County (289), and Bamberg County (297).

When it comes to the ratio of hispanic to non-hispanic population, Saluda County had the highest percentage (15.27%), followed by Jasper County (13.21%), and Beaufort County (11.01%).
