Based on data from the CDC, the overall number of fatal drug overdose deaths involving Any Opioids in the US in 2024 was 39,147, and the age adjusted rate per 100,000 persons was 17.9. These overall values was based on data from 43 jurisdictions (i.e. states and DC).

Among all states with data, New York had the highest number of fatal drug overdose deaths involving Any Opioids (3,316), followed by Pennsylvania (2,543), Washington (2,470), and Ohio (2,343).

In terms of the age-adjusted rate of fatal drug overdose deaths involving Any Opioids per 100K persons, Alaska had the highest (36.9), followed by West Virginia (36.8), and Washington (30.6).
