While performing a routine antemortem walk-through on Tuesday May 9th, 2022 at approximately 0700 hours at Wainright and Son Establishment M48277, the PHV observed a humane handling non-compliance. Two cattle in one of the antemortem pens had no access to water. No water receptacle was available for the cattle to drink from. The plant owner was immediately notified. No U.S. reject tag was applied because the plant owner took immediate corrective actions and restored water availability to the pen. This non-compliance violates code of federal regulations 313.2 (e).

At approximately 6:45 AM while performing antemortem inspection the following non-compliance was observed: One cow in pen #6 did not have water. REDACTED was notified immediately verbally, plant employee supplied water immediately. REDACTED was advised that a noncompliance would be written.
