According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2008 Q1 was $905. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,490), followed by New York ($1,400), and Connecticut ($1,259).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest average weekly wage ($625), followed by South Dakota ($632), and Mississippi ($634).
