According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2008 Q3 was $841. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,392), followed by Connecticut ($1,033), and New York ($1,030).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($623), followed by Montana ($629), and Mississippi ($630).
