Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the citizen voting-age population for Illinois was 8,826,635 and represented 68.83% of the total Illinois population.

Among all Illinois counties, Cook had the highest citizen voting-age population (3.42M), followed by DuPage (621.99K), and Lake (447.23K).

In terms of percentages, Lawrence had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (90.91%), followed by McDonough (82.13%), and Brown (81.71%).
