Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2021, the citizen voting-age population for Illinois was 9,133,895 and represented 71.24% of the total Illinois population.

Among all Illinois counties, Cook had the highest citizen voting-age population (3.62M), followed by DuPage (654.54K), and Will (489.93K).

In terms of percentages, Hardin had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (85.95%), followed by Brown (81.75%), and Schuyler (81.74%).
