Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2015, the citizen voting-age population for North Carolina was 7,108,000 and represented 72.20% of the total North Carolina population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest citizen voting-age population (661.37K), followed by Wake (661.35K), and Guilford (361.93K).

In terms of percentages, Watauga had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (84.95%), followed by Pamlico (81.78%), and Transylvania (81.10%).
