Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the citizen voting-age population for Illinois was 9,003,480 and represented 70.06% of the total Illinois population.

Among all Illinois counties, Cook had the highest citizen voting-age population (3.51M), followed by DuPage (641.45K), and Will (467.85K).

In terms of percentages, Brown had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (83.32%), followed by Pope (82.49%), and Hardin (82.04%).
