Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the citizen voting-age population for Maine was 1,051,865 and represented 79.09% of the total Maine population.

Among all Maine counties, Cumberland had the highest citizen voting-age population (224.91K), followed by York (158.70K), and Penobscot (122.35K).

In terms of percentages, Piscataquis had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (81.64%), followed by Lincoln (81.33%), and Franklin (80.96%).
