Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2017, the citizen voting-age population for North Carolina was 7,309,765 and represented 72.72% of the total North Carolina population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Wake had the highest citizen voting-age population (699.34K), followed by Mecklenburg (693.74K), and Guilford (371.19K).

In terms of percentages, Watauga had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (85.56%), followed by Pamlico (82.51%), and Tyrrell (81.91%).
