Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2018, the citizen voting-age population for North Carolina was 7,413,180 and represented 73.00% of the total North Carolina population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Wake had the highest citizen voting-age population (719.85K), followed by Mecklenburg (709.45K), and Guilford (377.17K).

In terms of percentages, Watauga had the highest percentage of its population being citizens of voting-age (85.38%), followed by Tyrrell (85.07%), and Pamlico (82.97%).
