Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, the Black or African American Alone population in the United States was 45,757,433 and represented 13.66% of the total US population (334,914,895).

Among all US states, Texas had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (4,157,785), followed by Florida (3,829,414), and Georgia (3,661,752). Wyoming had the lowest (7,048).
