According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2021, the number of deaths for Illinois was 128,385. Cook County had the highest number of deaths (48,145), followed by DuPage County (7,272), and Will County (5,617). On the other hand, Putnam County had the lowest number of deaths (58), followed by Pope County (62), and Calhoun County (62).
