According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2017, the death rate for California was 6.76. Inyo County had the highest death rate (14.62), followed by Siskiyou County (14.61), and Lake County (14.56). On the other hand, Mono County had the lowest death rate (4.34), followed by Santa Clara County (5.3), and Kings County (5.63).
