According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2018, the death rate for California was 6.86. Alpine County had the highest death rate (13.66), followed by Lake County (13.17), and Sierra County (12.73). On the other hand, Mono County had the lowest death rate (2.23), followed by Santa Clara County (5.29), and San Benito County (5.74).
