Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, there were 290,062 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Minnesota and they represented 5.39% of the total population of Minnesota in 2012. Hennepin County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (143,081), followed by Ramsey County (57,274), and Dakota County (20,132). On the other hand, Lincoln County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (9), followed by Traverse County (11), and Mahnomen County (12).
