According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in February 2018, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA-NH was 245.854 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 15.6%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Household energy: 16.5%
  2. Motor fuel: 14.1%
  3. Rent of primary residence: 4.6%
