According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2019, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for South Carolina was 11.85. Jasper County had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (33.27), followed by Lancaster County (31.44), and Horry County (30.38). On the other hand, Allendale County had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-26.01), followed by Lee County (-20.51), and Williamsburg County (-16.38).

Net migration rate for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county per 1,000 of the county's mid-year population.
