US Percentage of Old Adults that were Obese By State in 2017 (CDC)

Based on data from the CDC, in 2017, 32.4% of old adults in the US were Obese, with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more.

Among all states, West Virginia had the highest percentage of its old adult population who were obese (39.4%), followed by Louisiana (38.7%), Mississippi (38.4%), and Iowa (38.3%).

For the District of Columbia, 28.7% of old adults were obese.
