Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, there were 234,358 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Asian alone in North Carolina and they represented 2.40% of the total population of North Carolina in 2012. Wake County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Asian alone population (55,518), followed by Mecklenburg County (49,103), and Guilford County (21,412). On the other hand, Gates County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Asian alone (22), followed by Hyde County (24), and Clay County (28).
