Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2016, there were 357,175 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Kentucky and they represented 8.04% of the total population of Kentucky in 2016. Jefferson County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (164,634), followed by Fayette County (46,885), and Christian County (15,136). On the other hand, Robertson County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (8), followed by Wolfe County (22), and Owsley County (26).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Fulton County had the highest percentage (23.46%), followed by Jefferson County (21.44%), and Christian County (21.03%).
