Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2014, there were 702,061 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Missouri and they represented 11.59% of the total population of Missouri in 2014. St. Louis County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (237,668), followed by Jackson County (160,604), and St. Louis city (152,343). On the other hand, Scotland County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (3), followed by Schuyler County (5), and Mercer County (6).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, St. Louis city had the highest percentage (47.97%), followed by Pemiscot County (26.31%), and Mississippi County (24.74%).
