Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2018, there were 710,287 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Missouri and they represented 11.60% of the total population of Missouri in 2018. St. Louis County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (244,505), followed by Jackson County (163,453), and St. Louis city (138,850). On the other hand, Scotland County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (5), followed by Schuyler County (7), and Putnam County (8).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, St. Louis city had the highest percentage (45.73%), followed by Pemiscot County (25.67%), and St. Louis County (24.55%).
