Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, there were 1,570,659 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Virginia and they represented 19.02% of the total population of Virginia in 2013. Richmond city had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (106,977), followed by Fairfax County (104,815), and Norfolk city (102,649). On the other hand, Craig County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (10), followed by Highland County (12), and Dickenson County (54).
