Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, there were 6,318,158 people that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone in North Carolina and they represented 64.79% of the total population of North Carolina in 2012. Wake County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic White alone population (587,589), followed by Mecklenburg County (481,209), and Guilford County (267,309). On the other hand, Tyrrell County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic White alone (2,216), followed by Hyde County (3,459), and Washington County (5,733).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone, Madison County had the highest percentage (94.56%), followed by Clay County (94.54%), and Haywood County (93.71%).
